How to find the IMEI number of a cell phone?

Your cell phone is identified by a number IMEI (Movable International Equipment Identity).  This number should be noted and kept in a safe place.  This IMEI number can help you to find your cell phone and allows blocking the usage of your phone with another SIM card.

 Here’s how to find the IMEI number of your cell phone.

 1. Take off the rear cover of your phone and remove the battery.  You will find the IMEI number on the white label of the battery.  This number IMEI is made up of only numbers. 

2. Write down the first 15 digits.

3. Put back the battery and close the cover of your phone.

 4. If you have a SIM card, go to your phone’s main menu.  While scrolling through the menu, you will find the option IMEI or SIM ID.  Click on this option to see your IMEI number. 

5. If your phone is quite old and has a SIM card, press on the right arrow until the IMEI number appears.   If you see only 7 digits, press the key Menu, then the Following key to let the digits appear.

 Be careful when you visit blogs.  Although some blogs have excellent content, some others are very subjective and can mislead you. Also take the time to verify when the information was put online. Sometimes it is better to use data that is updated on a regular basis or at least not to old.
